Our Englishman in New York; Nick Sullivan – fashion director of US Esquire is the epitome of less is more, understated, good old-fashioned, cool. In our view, his style is very much in keeping with the ‘Fellow ideology’ and he therefore is surely deserving of his portrait.
Nick’s style is simple and centred on traditional, tailored pieces with a contemporary take. Fit and construction are key, fashion fads and trends are sidelined, instead replaced by complimentary colours, textures and cuts. Nick was featured on Mr Porter’s: The Way I Dress in the summer, where he eloquently discusses his introduction to fashion and current approach. While Fellow doesn’t fully approve of his ‘dont’s’ (recent Fedora purchases and a love of black denim), his discussion of the contrast, or lack of, between style and fashion is both insightful and relevant.
Anyway, enjoy the snaps!
